I’m a game collector in addition to everything I do and really enjoy it. As a collector, I look for and purchase the rarer games that I can find in order to bolster my game collection. Basically, it’s like any other collector’s hobby out there that can be had. Getting games in a complete state is the most desirable thing to do. To be complete a game must not only be there and not scratched or destroyed but also come with the original packaging, box or case, maps, instruction manual, etc. If everything comes in shrink wrap then that’s a plus as well.
Now it may seem crazy to collect items like games or movies or other media and then never use them but I assure other collecting hobbies go the same way for the most part. There are a few that kind of cross the line both ways like guns or collectible trading card games, but for the most part a collection is to have, look at and cherish. This is most obvious in visual means such as art, but can come across with other items such as dolls, china sets and other great things. Ultimately, it’s about having fun with it and that’s what game collecting is.
