I love watching Iron Chef America and anyone with the Food Channel should check it out. Basically, it’s a version of the crazy Japanese game show where the channel’s celebrity chefs go against head chefs from restaurants around the United States. They have an hour to prepare a full five course meal, plate it and make it look good for the judges.
Did I mention that every episode has a special ingredient that needs to be used on every dish. It can be crazy sometimes like melons or coffee. Whatever it is it is the common theme among all the dishes that are prepared that night on the show.
I’m still not sure how the chefs all do it. They must have a gameplan of some sort coming in but they never seem to be communicating during the event with their teams. And the main ingredient is supposed to be a surprise but I’ve never seen one chef go, “I have no idea what I’m going to do with this.” It could be that the chefs already know the ingredient or perhaps it’s just that they’re all on top of their game as well though. Either way the show is very enjoyable and is a must watch for all.
